Caring for Carcinoid Foundation - Sunflower Grants

Sunflower Grants

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) awards Sunflower Grants to carcinoid / NET patient support groups.

Introduction


The purpose of Sunflower Grants is to fund patient support programs that relate to carcinoid / NET research.  Therefore, our Sunflower Grants complement the valuable activities that patient support groups pursue.

We are grateful to our Board of Directors for funding Sunflower Grants.

2009 Sunflower Grants

Program

Mission

  • The mission of the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is to discover a cure for carcinoid.

Purpose

  • The purpose of Sunflower Grants is to fund patient support programs that relate to carcinoid / NET research.
  • All programs are designed and performed by patient support groups.

Program Ideas

  • CFCF is open to all ideas that will support patients and relate to carcinoid / NET research.
  • We encourage creativity and focus on results.
  • Ideas for programs include:
    • Educational initiatives
    • Seed funds to incorporate or file for Federal non-profit status
    • Speaker series with leading scientists to inform patients
    • Fundraising events to support carcinoid / NET research

Funding Amount

  • $250 - $1,000 per year
  • Total Sunflower Grants awarded will not exceed $5,000 per year

Eligibility

  • All carcinoid / NET patient support groups may apply:
    • Any size
    • Any location in the world

Deadline

  • December 31, 2008
    • Applications must be received by 5pm Eastern Standard Time based on the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation's time stamp.
    • Applications must be submitted through the online form below.  We will not accept applications sent by mail.

Selection Process

  • We will review all applications.
  • We will post the names of all applicants on our website.
  • Our Board of Directors, acting in its sole discretion, will select the Sunflower Grant winners based on four criteria:
    • Quality of application
    • Track record of success
    • Commitment to curing carcinoid
    • Commitment to caring for the carcinoid / NET community

Announcement

  • The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation will announce the Sunflower Grant winners in early 2009.

Confidentiality

  • The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation will not disclose applications to anyone outside our Board of Directors.
