The Jimmy Fund Walk is hosted annually by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with the following mission:

"Most of us know someone affected by cancer and are passionate about the mission of protecting our friends and loved ones from all forms of the disease.  By walking and raising money for research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, you can make a monumental difference for families battling cancer."

Walk along the course of the famous Boston Marathon to help fight carcinoid.  There are three Walk routes of varying distances:

Key facts about the Jimmy Fund Walk:

• It is the only event, besides the Boston Marathon, sanctioned by the Boston Athletic Association to travel along the famed 26.2-mile route from Hopkinton to Boston.
• Since 1989, the Walk has raised more than $40 million.
• Walkers hail from 31 states.
• Participants range in age from a few months old to 94 years old;  the average walker is 36 years old.
