The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is dedicated to empowering patients and equipping them with a comprehensive understanding of treatment options so that patients can make the best informed decision when deciding their care.  In the spirit of empowering patients, CFCF is pleased to bring together our extensive community of patients, loved ones, medical professionals, and supporters for the Houston Neuroendocrine Tumor Patient Education Day. For information about this April 30th, 2010 event, see below.

Neuroendocrine Tumor Patient Education Day

Have you ever wondered what the best surgical approach to carcinoid is? How radiopeptide therapy works, its side effects and benefits? Or, what clinical trials there are for carcinoid and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors? These questions and more will be the subject of the Houston Neuroendocrine Tumor Patient Education Conference on April 30th, 2010. The conference will include presentations, question and answer sessions and panel discussions all focused on providing patients with a comprehensive understanding of neuroendocrine tumor treatment options.  Topics that will be covered are: Determining the Best Surgical Approach for Neuroendocrine Tumor Patients, Current and Upcoming Clinical Trials, Understanding Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT), the Role of Radioembolization and more.
